The Gauntlet

As promised, there's an updated version of the Classic Maps Bonus Pack. The three maps that had problems have been fixed (that's Arboria, Basmma, and Grudge), but there's also a bonus: Zed has added his conversion of alkazex's CTF-Gauntlet-Classic. This itself is a remake of the UT CTF map, so what you're getting is a conversion of a remake of a map that was previously converted to UTJB (the News Moose has aspirin if that's given you a headache).

All you have to do now is download it (there's a patch if you already have version 1 of the pack), and play it at Sunday Lockdown tomorrow. I checked on the server scoreboard a few times last week and there were a lot of people having a great time. Join them!

Lockdown!

It's been a good start to 2005 with quite a few Jailbreak maps released in the last week, and even better news is that our warden Sexmachine has added them to the Jailbreak Mothership.

If you're planning a visit to tomorrow evening's lockdown, you might want to check the list of required files. There's Birelli's JB-Alarscia (in the screenshot), CoolDude's remake JB-Chrome, and of course ZedMaestro's Classic Maps Bonus Pack. We're also running the Q3AFeedback mutator.

Unfortunately, a few bugs have cropped up in both Alarscia and the Classic Maps pack; we're working on getting fixed versions out to you. These are relatively minor, just HOMs in a couple of the Classic maps and a quite weird intermittent glitch in Alarscia that to be honest we don't really know what to do about, they shouldn't spoil your enjoyment of our Sunday Lockdown. You know the time, you know the place, let's play some Jailbreak!

Back to the classics

ZedMaestro has been working on a secret project for some time, and though I've been dying to tell you, every time I've asked for screenshots he's threatened me with the moose. But now the curtain is lifted on the Classic Maps Bonus Pack: six of the best UTJB maps, remade for Jailbreak 2004.

Two of the maps feature the new sentinel cannons, UT2004 Assault cannons modified to work in jail executions. Here's a shot of them wreaking bio-goo destruction in Snifam (which stands for "Still No Idea For A Mapname"!) You can read what Zed has to say on each map in our forum (more screenshots too!), or go download it.

Prisoners round the tree!

Let the bells ring out, it's Christmas! And the Jailbreak team has a special gift for all the Jailbreak players who have been good little boys and girls this year. It's the Release Tree Addon for Jailbreak 2004, guaranteed to free your jailed team-mates to the sound of sleighbells, brought to you by RevBillyG for the visuals and Wormbo and Mychaeel for the code. Go grab it and enjoy!
